You may be surprised to learn that every state decides how much time to devote to this topic, and how to test students. Due to the inconsistent and often insufficient government education for millions, our students are leaving high school without a solid knowledge of how our government functions and how to be a part of it. How will there be social changes if our young adults don’t understand our government, opt out and believe that the system is rigged? Please listen and share this special episode!
Civics is the subject the has the least number of minutes in K through 12 instruction for our children. Is has the least number of dollars.
And as a Comparison, for every $50 that the federal government gives to K through 12 for STEM programs, it gives 5 cents for civics.
And so it's just this thing where kind of, no matter how you slice it, we have collectively decided not to prioritize this within our schools.

Nutrition advice from Good Energy author Dr. Casey Means
So often, doctors and patients are taught that genes are our destiny—but that’s not true. Our genes don’t determine most health outcomes. What we eat and how we live impact our gene expression and cellular biology, determining our outcomes. Food chemicals go into your body and act as signaling molecules. They can directly increase or decrease gene expression, change DNA folding, and activate key cell-signaling pathways.
